View Full Version : Blow off valve
i am selling this or hoping to swap for a dump valve really.
i removed this when plumbing in the front mount and now would like to go back to a dump valve as this is to tall for where i want it.
it works great and makes a good loud noise and is in great condition.

What's the difference between this and a dump valve then apart from the name ??????
i am not actually sure, it in theory is the same as a piston type dump valve i believe and obviously the single large outlet is diffent
Will be put on ebay tomorrow

I have a bailey piston dump valve somewhere in garage.
I would be interested if its silver and in good condition

i have run this on my car for 18 months no issues at all and if it wasn't for size it would be back on my car.
I struggle to see how on could cause problems??? and it must be the same effect as the piston in the blow off valve
I have done a quick title search and had no results.

Tryed that first and couldnt find a deffinative answer, hence the request.
There is no definitive answer. Some members supposedly use(d) piston d/v's for ages with no issue. However, a number of people have had Bailey d/v pistons stick open due to the residue in the boost air on a GTT building up and restricting its movement. This can potentially result in a lot of engine damage and has done for one or two.
I swapped mine out for diaphragm version because of this reason. It looked, sounded and operated better. But that's just me.
