just to make you all aware that the 2014 retro pod day this year will be on sunday 22nd june 2014, theres also a RWYB day on the saturday for those that may want to make a full weeekend of it @ santa pod, is everyone in agreement that this is going to be the UNofficial frog pod day again??? more info in 2014, any input is cool thanx RTOC'ers Mick:agree::agree:

Mick - make it an event dude - you don't need the sanction of the club unless you want to fly the flag and promote it as such. Have a word with the committee, see if the event's organiser wants to do it, or simply offer to do it on behalf of the club if this is what's getting your juices flowing.
Looking at this has just made me think I should have got the club flyer etc and had that at the Snetterton meeting to get the RTOC Flag a flying.
Or like said at the beginning, just do it on your own and make a list.

I've not started a thread for this one yet as I think it was mid-end of February before Santa pod would look at taking a booking from us if I recall correctly.
It will be on the events list again next year anyway so I'll update this when I've spoken to the Santa pod organisers in a couple of months time.

yes you need the camping ticket so it needs to be bought from the link above matey, if you want the stand ticket for sunday buy the tickets for sunday from rtoc shop matey
but im sure you can get a stand pass from pod too so if your camping the saturday like alot of others youll need to buy from pod matey
just checked its £20 pp for weekend admission which includes saturday camping:agree:
at worse pay the £5.00 for 1 rtoc member ticket and a stand pass for sunday only too from the rtoc shop, im probably not camping so ill be buying all my tickets from rtoc shop:agree: but i know loads are camping saturday night

Buy the ticket from the club shop thou it's only £5 for you Phil as your a member

You will need to buy a weekend ticket from Pod for that.
We didn't buy any weekend tickets.
I don't expect you'll get stand pass with that though. But there will likely be some spares as we get 40 passes with 40 tickets and some people only need one between two.
If you do get a weekend ticket, let me know and I'll put you name down for a spare stand pass if there are any.

It's finally insured. MOT Friday and then try and clean it up between detailing jobs at the weekend. I feel like a right kid again :laugh:

As Ian said please buy in advance to avoid paying on the gate, it helps the club too, remember the 1st ticket is only £5 for a member and you get a stand pass included

People will have to be able to find you. Will there be a RTOC tent there? You could leave your number with someone there, or leave a note taped to it so people finding the empty tent can then call you?

New for 2014
We have introduced 'car club hangers this year which will correspond to your clubs 'zone' colour. Each car in your club area must display this hanger. Without it, cars will not be allowed past the security checkpoints. Any car without a club hanger will be directed into the general parking field.
Please ensure you complete all the details on the hanger and have it visible on arrival to Santa Pod. The registration number MUST match the vehicle it is displayed in. It will be checked!!
You will be informed of your clubs exact location a few days prior to the event once all areas have been marked out. A club map will be available on the website a few days prior to the event.
MOVEMENT OF ANY CLUB BARRIERS IS FORBIDDEN. Please speak to a member of security if you have any problems.
The main gate will be opening at 8am on Saturday 21st June for weekend ticket holders and at 8am on Sunday 22nd June for Sunday only ticket holders. Try to be in place on your club pitch by 10am on Sunday. There is no camping available for the Friday night.
The deadline for buying further tickets and making changes to your club booking is 5pm on Friday 13th June.
looks like pod are tightening the parking on the stand area ian, all it means really is that we cant pass a pass to another member to bring there cars up from general parking as its got to have the registration on the pass, but yes if you got some passes left on the wednesday before you can mail me them, i dont mind posting my mob up, they would just have to park in general parking and then move to the stand once the pass is filled in after they find me, no ian theres no tent, its just a hard standing area for all the lads to park next to each other and pose off there cars:laugh:
Last time I was there, 2004, many people had tents up on the hard standing area. then that was by the track between the 'grandstand' and the loos.

if you purchased a ticket thro the shop the pass will be sent out soon but it might be too late to buy a ticket threw the club now so you can buy on the gate and if theres a spare pass then i might be getting them to bring, waiting for ian to get back to me with dates, our convoy will start from brighton, so you can pick it up on the way ill work times out later this week

They'll have a pitch marked out for us before we get there mick. There will be A4 sized laminated sheets stuck to the barriers where they want us bud.
Hopefully it'll be the same pitch as last year as that was ideally placed :)

I was asked by ray (rat1) to ring pod to ask about the camping on Saturday night to see if I could get you in the same area anywayz pod wasn't that helpful on the phone so maybe you can scope each other out or meet Saturday before you enter pod, I know that robs coming from Ireland and im not sure when hes arriving so this maybe quite hard, obviously the Saturday is a rwyb day so you guys could be getting there anytime really, not far away now:agree:

I would take both parts, I think it cost me £30 last year and I think it depends on your terminal speed as to whether you need a crash helmet but I'm not sure what it is :ashamed:

you need both parts of licence, think its £25 to run and I think a crash helmet is needed for a terminal speed of 135 so unless ya want to you don't need a helmet
edit its £25 for unlimited runs

also ian sent me a email with the retro parking map but its not working, ill try and post it up later, but we are in the orange area which we asked for as the standpass is orange, so unless we have a set area which ill hopefully find out later then we should be able to park in the same place as long as someone else hasnt:agree:

thanx ian again:agree: pleased we are in the same place as last year I think, or very close but this is officially where we can park on SUNDAY only for the retro day, this is for anyone in a Renault with a standpass only, we are in area 17 of the orange area, we asked for orange as it was the area last year so only park in this area, please fill out the stand pass and hang on your mirror before entering pod so pod staff can let us straight through and theres no hold ups, appreciate everyone doing this in advance thanx guys, weather still looks good, so should be a awesome day thanx as always mick

great turn out from what I can see out of the 27 listed, 21/22 came and aleast 3/4 came that didn't list a great turnout and day for the RTOC, some people think we should make this our ND as loads turned up and enjoyed the day, that's another discussion though
