hi guys. rite i have my new raider and she has the following.

piper 270 cam.
piper valve springs.
gt tuning double cap intercooler
alloy rad.
mocol oil cooler
full t 25 turbo with 2.5 inch elbow and stainless steel scorpion exhaust.
ported and polished head.(matched to gaskets)
and running 1 bar boost.
innovate afr guage.
crappy air filter but that's being changed.

what should i be expecting from this and is there anything that i should change?
whats the difference between the 270 cam and the 285?
and can i run a bit more boost? fueling is spot on at the mo.

thanks and merry xmas.

Im no expert mate but here goes. The 285 will open your valves more and for longer(duration) than the 270.The 270 is a mild cam really. At a guess i would say you have about 160hp at the moment.

i c. so why would anyone choose the 270 over the 285?
could i turn the boost up a bit? safely

Could be any number of reasons. You dont have to uprate your valve springs with a 270 as its not really a high lift cam.The 270 works better lower in the rev range so suited to smaller blowers. The 285 has a slightly lump idle.

As long as your afr's are ok and you adjust your fueling if needed then yes wack the boost up to 20lb.lol.Ask Nick if the turbo is up to it.

Don't up the boost unless you can monitor adjust fuelling
That's the quickest way to kill a engine

Cams are usually speced to suit turbo\engine requirements
The bigger the cam\turbo the power tends to move up the rev range
Which can make it horrible on the road laggy as hell

nick said push it up to about 18 ish.
only asking as i have never had any dealing with the 270 cam. its a really smooth drive. over 30 but sometimes a bit lumpy poodling along at 20. but once u go up in speed it goes.
AFRS are ok. so may just go up a bit and see.

as for the boosting and cam it defo picks up really well and just keeps pulling.
my last five had a t25 but no cam and over 80 i didn't feel comfy but this one just pulls and pulls way up to 100. so guess that's the difference with a cam??

so the 270 will be spot on for road use? i.e. traveling to work and back? sounds ok to me.

Sorry mate I've had no dealings with the 270
But if something feels right then it usually is
