Afternoon all.Can anyone recommend a solution i can soak my carb in to clean it up a bit?I was thinking of white vinigar but am unsure this will be ok.:confused:

Yep, or malt vinegar, or lemon juice.

Houston we have a problem.I tried the carb top in this solution and its turned black.Is my only option now to blast it.:cry:

Can't say I've ever seen any carbs, and I've done plenty, turn black after dipping them in vinegar or lemon juice.

You sure it was vinegar? :D

Must have been the baking soda Mart.:laugh:
Any ideas how to get it back to its former glory?Wasnt even that dirty.:confused:

You could try dishwashing it.

Given the carb's magnesium composite, you have to be a bit careful how long you leave it in 'acidic' fluid.

If it's turned black, perhaps it's been left too long? Does it look porous?

It does look a little porous.Scrubbing with vinegar is getting it off slowly.I might just get it soda blasted or source another.:ashamed:

Soda blast it job done, it will then look brand new!!!
