Black pot hose going to rocker cover??

What is that black pot called with a hose going to the rocker cover and what does it do? my hose from this black pot to the top of the engine is split can it do any damage.

Just a breather pipe from the degassing chamber. It won't cause any immediate damage but get it replaced none the less

Yep thats the pipe off the top to the rocker cover it`s got a big split as it comes out of the degassing chamber
