hose from back of carb

the hose that goes from the back of the carb to the aei unit. is this needed its just that the plastic hose connector on the aei has decided to snap off:cry:

does this hose affect the running of the car i.e. lean or rich.

or can i just blank the hose off........

Without going into major detail, yes, it's 100% definitely required as it (the aei) dictates how much ignition retard there is per how much boost/positive pressure it sees, and uses that pipe as its reference to what the engine is seeing.

You need this so the renix unit will retard the timing on boost. Other wise you will be seeing a lot of low flying clouds. Damn beat me to it:)

oh great. can anyone suggest a way to repair this. its broke right level with the aei part it connects to. if you know what i mean.

is it easy to strip down the black part where the hose connects to.

You're probably best off just buying a second hand AEI off eBay or the like - won't cost you much :)
