you need to share it or something
without even seeing the pictures, it could possibly only be 2 things.....
1- you have a phase 1 head and a phase 2 head
- valve spring seats are different
2- you have a campus head and a gtt head - the campus head is missing the bottom 2 bolts for the manifold.....
???
Can someone try this.

Looks like the top one (clean one) has the springs platform machined to take a higher lift cam and stop the valve springs binding up and bending pushrods?

The casting is different, don't look like it has been machined.

No problem, it might stretch a bit.
which one should I use, the dirty one is 0.7mm thicker.
what are the actual depths of the heads though? from top to bottom?

The clean head is 72.3
The dirty head is 73.0
use the dirty one. :)
Do you know where I could send it to to get it chemically cleaned.

Soda blasting does a nice job as does vapour blasting, neither will leave any media that will damage stuff either and the final result will leave ot looking like brand new!!!!
yes I have heard soda blasting does a nice job, will try and source someone locally.
Cheers
