Be careful some of those numbers aren't crossing over to the R5 Gt Turbo :crap:
As Mike has said, be careful with those parts, even though my system cross references them over to a part which does fit the GT Turbo, when looking closer the 311546B is the only one which says it actually fits engine codes C1J782, C1J784 and C1J788

They may fit but rear braking may not be correct. Piston size maybe different.:crap:
6001007399 is the o.e number, or...

Fit it and take to an MOT test centre. they test the brake efficiency as part of the mot. if they're happy and it handles fine on the road i wouldn't sweat it.
report back findings ;):)
Can anyone confirm if a Bendix 312180B is any good?
Will have to see when somebody fits one to the car and see how the brakes are
As long as it's the same size and fits, I can't see it being any major problem, any thing better than a god knows how old one that just bearly works and passes mot.
If any, just adjust the sensitivity up as it all it does is allow more fluid to the rear cailpers when the brakes are applied. :)
My old one is seized so reckon this must be better?!
Plus through work it's cheap too! :D
I've just had mine fitted today........same one as goobie's, bought through GSF on eBay.
Unfortunately I can't confirm the part number, as I threw the box away months ago,but it's the same looking one as yours Jon (Casper)?
The one removed today is also exactly the same looking!
My recent mot showed that braking on the n/s rear caliper was down to about 25% of what it should be.......so I've replaced the rear compensator, new braided hose's, and new copper brake pipes fitted.
The difference in the feeling on the brake pedal is instant!
I will confirm the actual improvement (if any) once I've had the car back on the rollers to see how the brakes are now performing - this could be upto 2 weeks before I get the chance as I'm away again after Wednesday, but I will 100% report back:agree:
Obviously another thing to bare in mind with what I find - I haven't changed the caliper, so this could potentially be the root cause of the problem...........we'll see:agree:

i hear those renault 5 trailers have the same ones as the gt turbo fitted as standard ;)
interesting findings on GSF's webkat system
bendix 311546B = renault 6001007399
now on the same page is the Girling equivalent....
8001034 = renault 6001007399 and 7701349735
i click on the 7701349735 number and it links to Bendix 312180B = 653RE001 (http://web2.carparts-cat.com/default.aspx?38=19608212&35=49&36=73&124=73&14=4&84=7701349735&230=7&171=al_wsvc_erp_378658281_hf1&1105=1&10=9D4A5EC832764A45B6F3BE45A9EC1F39088004&12=140)

Hey guys,
Just had the brakes retested and this is what was found:
Rear Brakes: 115 kgf - Previously rear brakes: 55 kgf (they were also give or take exactly the same n/s & o/s)
So the efficency has clearly improved, but between us we arent sure how this compares to 'perfect results' and the result of an OE Rear compensator?
Can anyone confirm what readings you should be seeing? or does the above sound about right?
Also, fronts were at 230 kgf?? Sound right?
Hope this helps regardless:agree:
Just to add also, the rear compensator is at its maxium adjustment!
~60+ should yield an MOT pass.
I certainly wouldn't be running my rear brakes @ 115!

Depends if you like cornering like your playing Mario kart?

66% to the front 33% to the rear, cannot be far off. To get the brake bias perfect you would need to weigh all four corners off the car and also work out the front to rear weight split.
 I hear ya Mart:agree:
My car aside, it does show that these compensators are usable then?
And nice one:agree: it's good to see the correct kinda percentage as well, so I can now adjust mine accordingly.......:agree:

Is there anyone who has fitted the Bendix 312180B?
As I have seen it is the brake compensator of the standard R5s,
for the GTT and the GTE 311546B is the original item.
But I can only find 312180B.

Ok, thanks.
Just I do not understand, as the Bendix 312180B is listed as all super 5 except GTT.
The LPR 9927 refers to both 6001007399 and 7701349735.
But if Wallace is using the Bendix 312180B than it should be fine for me also. :)
Hello,
any new test conclusions on Bendix 312180B? Need to bay new compensator...
Thanks,
Martin

Mine has just arrived.
Here is a pic:
http://www.renaultclub.hu/Jimmy/compensator.jpg
My assumption is that the only difference in the Bendix 312180B is the spring.
For eg. the LPR one which has the same part number for the GTT and the campus is not containing the spring.
That looks good mate, is it the one from eBay france, how much was it?

Yes. It was 50 euros + p&p (which was 15 to Hungary)
I have a 312180B for sale, brand new if any one needs one
