Howdy,

bought Andy bonds 5 today, he is gutted about selling it, but I will be updating this thread as I go.

Needs a bottom end rebuild..was gunna use it as a track car, but the shell is totally rot free... So I may end up using bajjer as the track car... I'm not sure yet!

Any way a few pics

Had another morning on it over the weekend, she is up and running now :D ignore the boost hoses, they are just spares I had laying around.

Plan is, I'm selling my other 5, Bajjer, due to buying a house, so this will be my main 5 from now on. Black samcos planned. Already fitted my turbo technics s117 and one piece down pipe.

More to come!

Some good work going on there :) is that some sort if instant gasket between the turbo to downpipe? If so would it withstand the heat. I'm not questioning you I'm more curious for my own needs :D. I've always liked the black 5 shame your selling it.

The only reason I used the red gasket sealant is because I got the downpipe cheap, the seller told me he had probs with it blowing and the only solution was this stuff. It's good for 250c! .... So far no blowing issues :agree:

They are rear ph1 doorcards with another grafted onto the front.

Regarding the seats , they weight a chuffing ton. If you are tracking it , sell the complete interior and get a track focused light seat.

However , if not they are very comfy

Looking good :agree:

is that 250c that's fine for sump sealant but not turbo / exhaust you need something that can withstand around 800- 1000c

I guessed as much James, it's all I had to hand, I just wanted to make sure the downpipe wasn't a total loss with it not sealing well for the previous owner. Will get some more hardcore stuff and a new gasket before it sees the road :D

hows this coming along?

Slowly but surely,

I've just this week got it taxed and driving around as I've had rear light connection problems so I replaced n/s loom front to back and cleaned up the connections in the holders. And all is well. I also have removed the remnants of a Clifford alarm and airhorn And associated wiring, I fit a cool running thermostat and new relay and removed the In Car fan switch and wireing as I'm only running standard boost it was pointless. Traced a waterleAk in passenger footwell coming from heater matrix so I have disconnected that until I have time to take dash out and replace the unit. I've got 2x carbs and neither was set up for standard turbo so I am running rich and need to get that sorted. The windows motors were slow and non moving so I have replaced p/s and all I'd well but I will need more time on d/s as that goes down but not up.
Fitted various gaskets the engine, ordered a soft clutch kit fixed the headlight issues replaced bumper. Once I get on top of my running issues I've got a 2wd cossie cooler to go on that was pressure tested and painted and alloy welded at NRG. I'm sure there's more I have done and I still have lots to do.
