Just installed some new silicon hoses for water and breathers and having problems with the car idling now. was fine before but it ildles well lumpy now. have checked with a mate car that all the pipes are in correct place. is there any restrictors or issues with silicon piping that im not aware of in the breather system. the little air filter on the end of the breather pipe coming of the t piece from the carb and oil separator is making a very loud sucking noise which im sure it wasn't doing before??

Make sure the restrictors are fitted in the breather pipes.

why would these make a difference to the idling anyway? just out of courisity?

you are sucking air into the inlet manifold without any fuel..... the restrictors mean a set amount is let in. without them the idle will be all over the place as the air in will be unmetered.
now go look at the wizard question for the sizes....

Brilliant thanks a lot for the help just ordered two restrictors from cgb . A small one and large so I hope these are the diameter wizard has said. and makes the car idle again properly .
