Currently got a 2004 Clio DCI 80.
Looking to bin it for something a bit more comfortable with a few more toys whilst still keeping the crazy mpg.

Found this one, which seems like a decent upgrade (although full leather would be nice).

Anyone else got a suggestion?

I've toyed with the idea of putting the DCI engine from the clio into a rolling 5GTT shell... But would rather just get something standard for the commute and put what little time/money i have into my 1/2 cup GTT.

I sold my GPZ500 after coming off it. Am afraid i can't buy another bike. :crap:

I'm not sure if i'd call riding a bike comfortable ;) Especially when in adverse weather conditions.

80mpg :eek: and over 1000 miles to the tank. Does the new megane have the same sort of issues as the last lot with problems with the key and the engine destroying itself by running off the oil.

As much as I like my clio dci, it would be such a waste of a gtt putting that engine in it, so wrong in every way imo and its not going to be more comfortable. What about going for the dci 100. Bit more power and a few more luxuries.

I have two dailys, one for me, one for wife and kids. Mk4 golf gt tdi 130bhp 6 speed (rapid, comfy and 50mpg) and an Audi a4 avant Quattro sport 1.9tdi (not as quick, but super comfy, loads of room and good in snow as its Quattro

My wife's car which is use occasionally is a 2.0tdi Skoda Octavia estate. Nice drive, bit of poke, comfy... but only 50mpg.

I get about 72mpg out of the DCI80, and want at least 70 out of the next one.

Golf Blue Motion.
My auntie has one and it's brilliant. Great build quality, mega comfortable, 80 MPG, lots of gizmos.

Or a smaller alternative would be a Polo Blue Motion. Still a brilliant car :agree:

How about a Mini Cooper D?? Our 08 plate that we have had from new averages 65mpg with 85% of that being town use. It's £20 a year to tax and it does have a bit of poke when you put your foot down.

I'm using it at the moment to travel to work. (Only a few miles) its comfortable and effortless to drive. I just look like a proper fanny in it though as it is definitely built and designed for a girl to drive!

Get a Porsche..

I know someone with a mapped golf gt tdi 6 speed and after remap he can see 60+ on the trip computer.. What it really does I don't know but it's a great car I think, the miles these things can do is awesome, 200k easy.

That's where I'll go next if I don't get me a volvo..

One of the works cars used to be a Mini Cooper D, great little car.. loved the handling, pity about the power.

The Golf Tdi is probably the best call, but the dual-mass flywheel rubbish is a put off.

Sold our tdi 130 golf last year 160,000 on the clock and still on the original clutch
Regretted it ever since
A radiator and a cv joint in 5 years isn't bad ( no DM issues)
