After posting on the tungsten grey side decals post regarding black ones being reproduced Topcat has suggested a thread be started collecting a minimum of 10 names before they start to reproduce these so here goes :

As anyone got a pic of what the black decals look like, I have got a red 5 but the decals for red fade into black an I think fade to silver would look better imo, cheers

Yup. All our decals are copied from originals mate.

why not print these on clear vinyl so they fade to the colour of the car? pretty sure i have a printable file for these somewhere.

They'd look pants fella. And as Scott sad not "OE" which is why people want them reproduced in the 1st place.
Only 3 more people need to commit to these to get the ball rolling!
Once these are complete ALL phase 2 side decals will have been done. :)

You could get the red screen fade of the gt turbo on clear vinyl? Original would look better in my opinion, but it's entirely up to you guys. :)

I'm a little confused..
The decals fade from grey to black or grey to clear so the paint shows through?

Fair one, i did make a set of these for a mate and he wanted them on clear, he loved em. Myself, i've never had a 5 with them on as i think most of em have had bumps then resprays :( but im a vehicle wrapper and i,ve just completely wrapped them to hide a multitude of sins ;)

Trouble is that I have to get these done in bulk, because the red
Gt turbo part is screened on like the originals, we have to get a
Minimum of 10 sets per order.
If we could get them in clear it would open up it up to after market black and other colours. Could potentially get everyone involved no mater what colour 5 they have. Prob be able to fill the order no bother. Just putting it out there:)

We've already done all the other phase 2 decals, black decals are different to grey/white and the red/leccy blue cars are completely different.
Printing them wouldn't open up the market as they are all different fella, I don't think any of the "OE brigade" would be interested in them (my cars pretty standard and I wouldn't entertain it).
Prints on clear vinyl won't be happening from us I'm afraid mate. You could look into it yourself if thats the finish you desire.

I will wait for these as my wheels are anthracite and lighter colour Tungy decals will probably stand out even more with them

The ones on my tungy are the copies. I'm unsure how they look on a black 5 as no ones done it yet.mike will give u a better opinion than I can dude :)
Maybe a daft question this, but on the white/grey decals at the bottom of the decals what colour is the material that isn't the grey dots - must be clear so you can put them on grey and white backgrounds??

Yep you're spot on mate. Fades from silver to clear. Hammer has a set on his white 5, msg him for a pic :)

or why dont the club shop put the funds up for this to go ahead and sell the remainding one in there
I believe (don't take my word for it) he has decided not to do these anymore due to what people have been saying on the club boards. His profile also says this.
If that's the case then it's a big fck up for the club thanks to a few short-sighted detractors. :dearme: It wasn't far from being a complete job for ph2 decals for the different colours.

As what trev said. If this is true - a total waste and shame! :( the decals being produced were a top effort. I haven't unwrapped mine yet but I am sure they are 100%:agree:
As above it would be a great shame if these aren't produced, been looking forward to getting a set of these. :crap:

So sad to hear this, to mirror the above comments, I think the already produced decals look amazing & I for one was super excited about the prospect of getting some for my black gt project! Also the selfless spirit of those involved in producing them was very admirable! Dont know any details of whats transpired, but i can only say if negative comments have been banded about thats a great shame!

After asking Topcat on what the score is with these.. Got to say the situation is pathetic..
Am I understanding this correctly? Have people been speaking negatively about the copy decals, and as a result it has been decided by the members who produced them that it is no longer worth their while?
If that has happened then it is a crying shame. Who on earth would speak negatively about these copies, they are fantastic! I parked my white 5 next to another white one at the Retro Show this year...mine had copy decals fitted and he other had originals. You could hardly tell any difference.
Such a shame if negativity has been spread about. I'll stick some pics up later just to show how good these decals are.

From memory, I believe certain people moaned about the profit made from making the decals. They were loads cheaper than the real ones and looked spot on.
I think in reality, the profit made was neglible......so a few members ruined it for all it seems :disagree:

Really? I paid Mike £110 for my decals...and that was the delivered price. I don't know what the profit margin was on these decals, but at the end of the day who cares! I got a set of fantastic copy decals for almost £100 cheaper than an OE set. So to be honest, I couldn't care less if the chaps made some money from this. I'm more than happy with the deal.
In fact, I hope they did make a bit of money otherwise what's the point in doing this in the first place :crap:

Asked and had the ok to copy some of this into the thread for clarity on whats happening:
I was accused of using the club as a place to make "loads of money" & doing nothing for the club. by a few members. One of whom is on the committee.
Laughable as I give the club shop the gear knob stickers which they sell on the shop.
I've decided that rtoc is a complete waste of my time and effort. My membership expires next week, & I won't be renewing it.
The whole experience has been an absolute kick in the balls. I honestly thought I was helping the club out.
As u can probably tell, I'm still pretty pi$$ed off with the situation.
At the moment there is no ETA on when or if the decals are going to be made
Shame really, as the club has lost 2 members and a great product being made for its members. We sold them exclusively to mike who only sold to rtoc members.

I'm not sure mate. Decals won't be getting sold to the club though. I'm no longer a member from the 10th and won't be renewing, so it will be difficult to arrange etc.
You're better off msging mike at gt turbo spares. They'll be getting sold through him if either of us decide to do them. Mikes unsure about the black sets I think. He's been d*cked around by club members on the other sets.
Spk to mike and he'll make a decision.

Seems the annual cull of active members has now run it's course and again not a lot has been achieved, what a waste.
I feel really sorry for TC and the others who put their time and effort into this. I'm just glad I managed to purchase a set when everything was going well.
If you read this TC mate before your membership expires, thank you so much for taking the time and effort to produce these and then offer them to members for a great price. It was a great product sold at a great price. It's such a shame this has happened, and the club has lost a good member because of negativity.

Same as Hammer I grabbed two sets whist I could and kept a set for the future very pleased them, the quality is fantastic Davo went to a great deal of effort to get these spot on seems a raw deal when he went to the effort for everyone to benefit, so what if the guys made a few quid they are still 50% cheaper then Renault and as they are to a very quality cant see the benefit in buying genuine tbh take care Davo and get a bit of carping in:)
