Looking to buy a r5 turbo . Must be phase 2 :)I'm based in Berwick upon tweed which seems to be miles away from any that are being sold .ideal car would be one that is near finished or a cheaper one with some small work to be done .modded or unmodded . Sent a couple of pms on here .cheers :)

Yeh think its a contender for longest time I have owned a car. It's got plenty of room for a turbo ;), or a few tweaks and you would get a nice daily/track car :), MOT is due in a week, but broken hand means it won't be MOT'd for a month...

Mot is due November, but I would get that redone. Mot same month, I would not use it during winter.

Bad scobbies are are around that price
Once you get into the 5 grove you'll find it very hard to get out
Lots of guys on here have given up exotic cars to keep there 5s ( myself included)

My problem is I don't want to pay top dollar then find loads of problems as I'm no good with mechanics . Might never own another one again but I have a young family and I don't want to spend everything for nostalgia :-)

Years ago I had about 6 or 7 r5 turbos phase 1's and 2's, my mrs wrecked my last one in Yorkshire about 1999, it ended up in pontefract :-( . My problem is I don't want to pay top dollar then find loads of problems as I'm no good with mechanics . £1100/£1150 with fresh mot gets you one that's mechanically sound and solid ;) remove the cage ( only bolted in), chuck some seats in and job done... Will even chuck in vgc leather renault 19 front seats...

Beg,borrow a boroscope and have a look inside the sills
It's the rust that's the expensive bit

If turbo is not required pen folds car is the dogs
Before I started my reshell I should have bought it and saved a lot of work

It's a cheap car, c1j'd 5's don't tend to sell for less than £2k, and when they do often have issues or sell very quick

Only got a picture of the engine bay.

But spec is as follows

Interior standard
Think its just over 100k miles (not sure on exact)
Original mats, undrilled dash
No tears in the seats
Original body kit including grill and tow eye cap
Engine has been fully rebuilt
Silicon hoses in yellow apart from blue boost hoses
BB tuning lobster top
pace intercooler
brand new valeo rad
baileys expansion tank
brand new engine wiring loom
brand new clutch cable
Will have 12 months MOT once put through
Sills are solid

Car has been delocked on both doors, but no fob to unlock so using boot at moment till can sort out.
Some lacquer peel on roof but will tidy this up when get a chance
rear bumper mounts need attention but might get round to do that before properly putting up for sale depending on time.

Looking at £2k for car once MOT'd but will have more pics and spec soon as still working on the car.

I know what you mean mate but I knew people who could do things cheaper lol . I still have the dump valve from my last one ;-) also know I won't get new for my type of cash , think I managed to change a starter motor once :-)
