Fao the f7 turbo lads, what leads are you running with Scoff's wasted spark ignition?

And do you know wether the module has inbuilt ignitors or needs a high current input?

I was planning on retaining the original ignition but it's misfiring more and more at the moment and i haven't even upped the boost so better to do it right at once and be done with it :)

Cheers!

How long are they? Where is your coil mounted?

I guess they don't protrude far enough wothout modifying?

hi Arthur
if you use 172 leads you need to fit the wasted coil in the same position where the dizzy cap was other wise the 172 leads will be to short:)

my coil pack is monted on a brscket on top of the rocker cover and Scoff sourced a set of leads

There are a number of places that sell the components to make up your own to any length you want. That's what I did for my wasted spark setup. See my project thread for an example.

What have you guys done to plug the end of the exhaust cam, where the dizzy used to sit?

I was thinking of chopping off the unwanted part of the Ducellier dizzy, removing the guts of it also. This would leave the original bung part intact and a means of mounting it to the head. Then welding a bracket to it to mount the wasted spark coil pack.

I think the original F7 ignition leads would fit with the coil pack located where the dizzy used to be.

Thanks lads,

Maybe i'll do some customes in the future and use 172's for now. The customs will take some time to fab while the 172's can be had on a shorter notice.

How did you guys blind the distributor? Just fit a plate on there?

Yup, found that too!

Although i can borrow a set of 172 leads for now so i could make it on a short notice.
