Does anyone know where abouts to source a b18ep cam or the like?

Or is it easier to get the turbo cam re-engineered to a different profile?

You can get the original reprofiled, if you can find an ep one might be worth looking for an RSI cam. I fitted one to a members engine and it seems to perform very well

Most of the NA cams that are in the same design engine will work as the turbo one is pretty bad as a standard cam, just make sure the pulley end is the same as some have a different pulley fitting

E cam is the one you want but good luck finding one. ep is the next one down but easier to source.
I have the rsi cam and I would say it is better than the ep cam.

Ah :/

Cheers for the info, are the RSI cams reasonably easy to source?

Look for a Clio rsi in a breakers. Take the head too if you need one.

Rsi's are pretty hard to source, ive been on cliosport as im a member there and there are next to none left.

There are a couple volvo 480 es' being broken at the moment, will that cam work? Is it worth getting the head too?

The es cam works well like I said I had one but the rsi feels better. I have seen a few rsi's in breakers worth checking out your local one. A spare head is never a bad thing;)

No the RSI is a 1.8 but is based on the same block and head so the cam will swap over

Ben, I would go have look round local scrappy and see what you can find
If interested I have a GTX head here with the GTX cam still fitted, I could measure it up against a standard B18FT cam and see what the difference is, never know might be another alternative

that remark was a bit unfair to the members of this club:cartman:
I help out as much as possible to anyone who wants info on the f7 engines,
most don't bother with the Volvo 1.7 8v engine and go down the the 16v route, as they are more tuneable and more tunning parts and easier to source and cheaper in the long run;) hence why the lack of response, there was even less around when I built up my f7p engine:)

Haz told me the gtx cam is better than the ep cam more so with a t28 and also gordini singh said it was the best mod he made also was the gtx cam. He said even with his t2 it pulled really well further up the rev range. I have a completd gtx engine in my mums basement.;)

Why's it harsh? The lad wasn't asking about a 16v and neither was I. Just a observation of mine. I was simply answering a feller new member that was asking for a response. I mentioned the selective few because the selective few have answerd him.. It was simply stating the fact I listed the b18 is not Spoken about.

If i had the dollar i would have gone down the f7p/r route as I have an f4r in my 200 and and think its a fantastic engine, the problem is literally the cost of the thing, the reason i ended up buying my 5 was after shopping around looking at turbocharging the 200 and was getting on for 4-5k. but thanks for the advice anyway.

PM for you mark
