Talk to this lot.

A friend at work had his S2000 redone by them a few years back, when we went to pick the car up I asked them about the EBS GTT roof and they indicated it wouldn't be a problem to do. Not gonna be cheep though..

Have one made! I was surprises a couple of years back when I had a convertable escort that a brand new vinyl roof would cost me about £450 and a mohair one around £650 fitted! I thought that was well cheap considering! They take off the old one, use it as a template, punch the dimensions into a machine and it cuts it to size! And they would only need the car for half a day!

I hope this is of help.

Steve

I've just found the details of the guys I was speaking of and rung them, they reckon for a new mohair on a 5 it's anywhere between £350-£600 top whack depending on the complexity of the pattern.

This is them,

But does that include new framework as well as the hood material? If there's no framework with the GTT cab B18 is thinking of buying, surely it will be a lot more than £600...?

No, that's just assuming it has the frame/hood already, and using that, if it's a new frame that's needed then I wouldn't even want to guess what he'd have to pay!

Is it yellow by any chance?

I'd hate to think what work is involved in getting a complete new roof mechanism!

Ouch. Maybe leave it roofless and use it only in dry conditions!

If its the yellow cut and weld up one the may wanna take a look at the boot floor before you try and source the roof bits?! Pretty sure that's suffered two back Enders. There's a lot of work needed to get it back together. I looked at restoring it the last time it came up on eBay, costs where massive and the rear quarter section that the rear windows used to live in had been ground off. I shelved the idea after seeing that. Getting the bits was not too much of a problem if my man in belguim has still got spares :crap:

Thanks nick, I think the car is blue, raider blue I hope, ;).
Will defo get a pic in the next few days. Cars is a turbo version. Does sound like a lot of work to get it right but will only appreciate in value the longer I keep it.
