View Full Version : Clutch cable stretch?

Quite a simple one I hope.

Basically I have just changed the clutch and have done a few miles to wear it in, but its a little too low on the floor. (On the edge of not finding reverse when its on the floor and the biting point its about 5mm off HEHE).

I'd appreciate opinions on cable stretch?. Has anyone experianced a significant difference with a new cable?

Also heavy duty or genuine cable?

Nothing personal I guess. :crap:

Not stealing the thread, but, does anyone have a part number for the genuine cable? My pedal litteraly hits the metal. Well the carpet anyway.

M-man, you're a star! I'll see what Renault are saying now :agree:

And Rob, PM me up if you wanna meet up sometime. I don't think I'll get out of my road in one lump soon though, the snow doesn't melt here for some reason

Whats the situation with you clutch pedal? Is self-adjusting mechanism working properly?

Recently, I replaced mine old one with new genuine one and had same problem. I screwed things around pedal, put the teeth in right position, pressed pedal 10 times and everything works perfectly now.

First thing I looked at was the ratchet on mine but it was at full extension and looked fine. To much slack from what I could see.
