I know, lame heading :D

I have one "practice run" carbon fiber LH rear arch. I has some minor defects which can be filled with either resin or clear coat. If I remember correctly this one has glass fiber between carbon to reduce the cost a bit. Sold as seen in the pictures. £60 (70€) +postage, this covers just bare material costs for me.

Want RH side as well? If you want this LH side+one brand new RH side it would be 250€

I can make it or pretty much everything for R5 in carbon or glass fiber for the right price.

edited; changed currencies to euro and added total price for LH+RH

Surely you need to build the RH side and sell them as a pair Harri? Who's going to buy just the LH side of a bespoke kit? :wasntme:

True, but i don't stock any of these. Im willing to make RH side as well so that should be good enough right?

Don't wanna nit pick too muchness the price is nice n low and its nice to see these being made but the weave isn't straight? I know if I was to buy these I'd want the weave straight

Weave straight???? Explain why this is ur preference?? From a strength point of view or purely to look at???

The fact it's really carbon fibre is a bonus point... I would buy it purely for decoration!! It's a piece of art it really is!!

Have a look at his original post buddy, this is a prototype.

Yeah I accept its a prototype. If the proper ones come out with the weave straighter you'll have a customer here for a whole kit front n rear arches and side skirts :agree:

I'll only make them on order so these don't normally pop up.

Ones without any of those issues Im asking 365€ for a set of both rear arch extensions. They take about 15h of work to do + expensive materials and a risk of doing more b-quality parts hence the price. If you want this LH side+one brand new RH side it would be 250€ in total.

If more than one set is ordered at once I could do discount since work per part would be reduced and i could buy some materials in bigger quantities which would reduce costs.

ps. this post is in euros, i should have put the original post in euros as well, sorry about that if anyone gets confused.

We are going a bit OT but..

True, in some areas the weave is a bit wavy in this one sold here. But even if it wasn't it won't look anything like 3M carbon effect tape since the weave needs to flex in order to bend on the shapes on the bottom and around rear edge. Otherwise I would have to cut the weave and make seam in it which wont look nice.

Here's picture of one RH side I made, that's how the weave should look if everything goes as it should.

I was only ribbing you Harri, I didn't mean any harm. :)

Yes you're right. In honesty, maybe the ad should make the assumption that there will unlikely be a buyer for a single side so therefore also show a price option for the pair? That might winkle out some genuine interest :agree:

Fordy, instead of publicly saying what's advertised is ok for the price but that you don't personally like it, the question should perhaps have been on PM to ask if it's possible to do what you want.

No harm done :)

Yes, it's more likely to sell them as a pair but then again some other members are experimenting on carbon fiber and R5 either skinning or making parts. For someone who is going to make something similar anyway selling just one might make sense..

But eitherway, I put the price for a pair there but won't make the other unless someone orders that

I've made them already to mine, read my project thread "just another GTTi project". I can make them but only on order since I dont want to risk ending up having second set for myself.

But will you order a whole kit, then once produced have him hanging about for 2 months waiting for your to pay/collect, ignore his pms and and posts on your threads, and just generally mess him about like you did me in the past ?? ;);) and then not even make an effort to apologize for your actions:coffee:

If it helps Harri i think its awesome pushing a carbon build r5' forwards, certainly be interesting to see what the end weight comes in at.
