The mint ph1 is up for sale, totally 100% original and rust free....
Owned by an old boy in ashford all his life, includes every tax disc, mot very, bill of sale, receipts etc...always serviced and Mot'd at Renault in Ashford.
Always stored in a garage (most of the time on axle stands to prevent tyres going off, silly clean, can't find any rust anywhere...)
I got this earlier on this year, haven't used it, kept it of the boards...
£1500 takes it away, needs a fast payment to secure...
Mot til aug 2014, tax til then aswell

Crazy price and de-values 5s in general when you do something like that.
feeling slightly sick that i missed this, wanted the first time you put a picture up on the boards and just when i had some cash again as well. Well done Keir, I'm not jealous at all ;)

Ok confession time....
It's a joke sale.... Thanks to Kier for playing along....
I wanted it to leak onto Facebook and have a joke with those who couldn't log onto RTOC ATM.
How ever the legend of the car is true, I saw it again yesterday and am meeting the old boy this week... I have my camera fully charged, I will get some more pics for you guys....
If it ever was for sale would be up for £5k+, truly is a stunning example..
I'd keep the stickers on it. If Renault put them on it makes it unique.
Really nice car!

It can happen. I originally paid only £1600 for my immaculate silver, C plate 55k, totally OE, 2 owner Ph1.
More miles than the one above but in the same ball park in terms of condition/value.
It only takes a distressed, misinformed or disinterested seller and a buyer that's on the button. :coffee:

Some nices picture would be good :agree:
It looks great!
I hope the old chap knows what it is worth too, and gets a fair price.

No chance if Penfold gets a sniff of it ;)

Believe me the old boy knows what it's worth, his son however is a dreamer if u ask me.. Said today £12,500... To which I said its nice but not that nice....
When I comes up for sale will most likely be forced out of my hands by the son... But will happily advertise on here....

yeah, that is maybe a bit steep.
Depending how it has been maintained, it could be worth £10000-11000? It could be one of the best in the country.
Then again, it may have just been sat idle for decades at a time, in which case it needs a load of money spending on it.

100% agree with u there chap.
I'd be scared to drive it if it cost that much.
Plenty of great examples around still.

It's very very good, the bit I like about it is its original, it's used.... Not polished, not cleaned weekly, detailed etc....
How ever it is kept of the ground in a heated garage...
The old boy has a couple of other toys, he knows his cars, loves them, worked hard as an engineer and brought the GTT as a retirement present to himself.... And intended it to be a collectors item when he dies... Doing a great job if you ask me....
It's a clean car, rust free, had a boost upgrade and suspension upgrade... Done by Renault dealership back in the 80's... What these actually are I don't know (most likely just up'd the boost and different springs), he has fitted a stainless exhaust 2 years ago as tw original had seen better days.
Currently on uniroyals alround as he brought 4 new tyres last year.. :)

I think Penfold's £5k estimate is top end money for a GTT. £10k is Turbo2 money.
10K for a 25 year old French hatchback is steep.
It depends on what the buyer needs/wants.
Definately unique with the decal (which I love)
Pearly and leccy blue look lovely

Please, please tell me where you can get a Turbo 2 for 10k, I will buy 3!!!!!!
Was thinking the same, maybe get a restoration project for that.

There was a bunch of them a few years ago that went for that sort of money... i'm sure :scared:
At the very least, thats the START of turbo2 money.

This just popped up on ebay. A bit more than 10k.

£5k seems lower top end compared to what other "mint" 5 GTT's are selling for...
I would happily pay upto £5k for this car, anything more I would begrudge... And most likely pass on, I am happy just to see it occasionally and have a chat with the old boy :)

On and off, it's been about 6 years, since i knew what i was talking about... and even then ;)
Price of everything seems to have gone up since i was last on here.. With all the bit's i've been collecting since 2003 i'm sitting on a gold-mine. :D:D;)
Price of everything seems to have gone up
Some have, some haven't. A lot of things are relatively cheaper actually.

I don't have the money, but I would beg, borrow and steal £5000 for that car. I think it would sell all day long at £5000.
I wonder why the Mk1 Renault 5's are not worth as much as the Gt Turbo's. I suppose you rarely come across a Mk1 Renault 5 in 'pristine' unrestored condition :wasntme:
