oil leak

i have an oil leak from what i presume is the oil level sensor on the front of the sump. do these have some sort of copper washer on them or am i going to have to change it for a replacment.

Yeah there's a washer on the level sensor, can still buy them new. Have heard the ceramic insert can leak where its in the brass 19mm nut. Pretty much sump off job to replace it mate as not much space.

ok mate cheers for the reply i was hoping i could get it out the front of the car with the rad off any ideas if this is possible

Ok, its abit too low down the level sensor, I did buy a cheap 19mm spanner and cut it up to try and get the sensor undone although space is tight with the front of the subframe

sure its not coming from teh turbo return next to that sensor.. or the oil pressure sensor on teh front of the block that sits just above.. there fair more proone to leak imo

I did think that actually I did have a look but it's really awkward to see with the rad in place. Maybe I'll have a proper good look and make sure before I spend any monies

the oil sensor can be removed from underneath with the rad and everything in place
