For anybody intererested, there is a great race meeting at Mallory Park this weekend (August 3rd & 4th). Billed as the AutoGlym Classic Festival it is Classic Touring Car Racing Club's big one of the year.

I am out in the Elf Cup Renault 5 GT turbo in the Pre '93 races on Sunday and Gemma is out in the French Trophy Race (this will be the first ever all French car race in this country apparently - excluding one-make races).

The whole event Saturday and Sunday will be live streamed on Motors TV and also recorded for later transmission.

Details here:

see Mallory Information downloads.

See you there!

So thats all three Cup GT Turbos have failed within two weeks now! Hope nobody visited Mallory on my account....

However, I have to say it was a very good meeting to watch so anyone who went should have had a good day.

Stripping our engine in next day or two to see what went wrong.

Bad luck mate - Dave and I often joke about the fact that there haven't ever been more than two GTT's racing on track since 2004 - at any point that it seems likely one or more decide to throw a mechanical wobbly.... :sad2:

Overheated? or just failed?

Its a split liner and so far doesn't appear too much other damage.

We don't think we will make Silverstone other than maybe watching but may be out at Oulton at end of the month.
