Hi all
I have removed my front mounted intercooler to go back to original. My question is from the old intercooler pipe work to the turbo there is a sensor plugged in (assuming an air sensor) do I need this sensor as the replacement pipe work does not house this? Can it be decommissioned or do I need to fit to the new hose? Thanks in advance!
The sensor in the hose from the turbo to the I/C is the over boost sensor.

Thanks, it's needed then? Will try and fit to the new hose? Surprised there is no place to fit into the new hose, have they ever been left out and what are the consequences if left out? If anyone knows!

Thanks for the link, very helpful.
After market hoses, Samco etc, had the option to specify an over boost switch or not.

If you want to run more than standard boost do away with it.

How wise is it to run over standard boost on a t2 turbo? Sorry for all the questions! The car is not driven that much, spends most of its life in the garage! But don't want to do damage to her uneccasarily!
Standard boost is somewhere between 7-9psi. Overboost switch is set at 16psi as a fail-safe, some are adjustable. You can live without it, just keep a close eye on boost pressures.
Increasing boost above factory standard is usually ok on the oe turbo up to 1bar (14.7psi), if you adjust the fuelling to suit. Everyone has different ideas and experience on this.
Plenty of info to be found on the site on both of these subjects :agree:

Thanks. Sounds a bit more like what I wanted to hear! Lol! Never push the car past 1 bar anyway, looks like I will just do away with it then! Cheers!
