First post!

I have a leak coming from my five, the puddle on the floor is on the right hand side below the waterpump, all hoses seem fine
is the waterpump prone to leaking?
Would it just be a matter of changing the gasket from the pump to the head?

Thanks

The waterpump bearings leak water out when they are worn. The pumps are dirt cheap to buy so replace the lot.

I recommend pressurising the coolant system to pin point the leak. Might be a hose, or the degas pot?

Bottom hose on the rad is also a classic.

Pressure test the system as advised :)

Right found a leak coming from the pipe from the header tank to the waterpump
Sorted that,
However when it was ticking over I think I could see coolant leaking from the actual block near where the braided oil pipes are?
What could this be?? Is this possible?
Sorry if I'm asking silly questions I'm still on a 3 year steep learning curve with these cars lol

Thanks

Ok, is coolant possibly leaking from another hose and running down block? braided oil pipes are on front of block to go to oil cooler/side of rad if oe, so possibly it could be leaking from the gasket between the water pump and head or possible leaky water pump

That was my suspicion that it was leaking and running down the block
Was just making sure there was nothing worse happening!
I think I will renew waterpump gasket and go from there

Thanks for the help
