Downpipe Problems

I'm just in the process of changing over downpipes so that I can fit my AFR gauge. I was given another downpipe by a member a while ago with a lambda boss already welded in.

I've just taken the current one off of the car (it had this downpipe and Scorpion exhaust fitted when I bought it) and comparing it to the one I'm about to fit, the original has a wider diameter and is slightly longer.

My question is, am I better off sticking with the downpipe that I have and having a boss welded in place, or just going ahead and fitting the new one that has a smaller diameter?

I would weld a boss into the pipe that was on there the other pipe may not reach the exhaust also there may be sealing problems. A boss is only a few quid and easy enough to weld on. If you can't weld take it to somewhere that welds stuff and give then a fiver.

Ok thanks mate will do, any idea where I can buy a boss and what size I'll need?

I was just looking at this as an alternative but my understanding was that the boss should be between the turbo elbow and the bend, this looks quite far down....

the weld on boss is available from scoffs website mate just search google for efiparts boss

I think they say 9-12" from the turbo I have mine before the bend pointing up.
