Where's the best place to get the correct size tyres for original speedlines? And what sort of price am I looking at? The thing is my tyres have seen better days but I'm wanted to upgrade to 15 inch alloys eventually but not sure wot to do at the mo as i know original spec tyres can be expensive

I`m in exactly the same boat as you Andy a couple of mine loose a few psi over a few weeks all four have about 8mm of tread but slightly cracked on the outer edge, and I cant decide wether to get some 15`s,or are the original 13" size tyre still available that hasn't been sat on a shelf for the last 15yrs or so??

Same as mine mate all cracked round edges but got Pleanty of tread, I thort mike would have some uni royals but its the cost of them, if somebody offered me some nice 15s with good tyres I might be persuade lol

Lol too true I`ve been keeping my eye out for a set of Willys Turbines etc on here or the bay for a while but nothing half decent has turned up and by the time I buy a set in need of a refurb and tyres it aint too cheap so back to square one and may as well fork out for the standard tyres I don't use the 5 much so in no rush its just the safety aspect with the cracking edge to be honest and my standard alloys were refurbed before I got the car so they look great plus I`m in the sticks across in E.Yorkshire so its all postage/courier hassle etc.

So what is the correct size that was originally fitted.

Is it 185 / 60 / 13 or 195 / 55 / 13 ?

Can someone confirm.

195 / 55 / 13 was the original size. I got some Uniroyals from mytyres last year. Best to email them as although they show stock currently I have had it before when they didn't actually have any in stock despite the website saying they did.

Or you could try here,

Uniroyal stopped making 195/55/13,s years ago, if you look on side wall theres a date code of production so a new set could be 10+ years old, tyre places cant sell tyres older than 2 years iirc

Think they are still in production in small batches every so often.
Mine are dated 2008.

That's why I'm gona go 15s mate as I'm not that keen on the handling on the standard 13s anyway and the price of them it's not worth it in my opinion
