It's only an issue in race ,not sprint/hillclimb etc .As long as it meets fia2000 at the minute .

I too am glad you all put Doris out. I really thought she was a gonner

The water pipe to the water jacket on the turbo final went the other day having been baked in the fire. I thought she was on fire again as white smoke came pouring out of the bonnet but this time it was steam. Now replaced all the pipes to the turbo.

Re how long a suit will last for speed events. As long as its not ripped and smeared with oil/grease/petrol/curry the scruts my way seem to be OK with some pretty old flame proof suits. You just need the right grade as Clee stated. So if you look after it she will last quite a few years.

The grade/spec/date.....whatever it is, changes at the end of 2009, same for crash helmets.......be careful what you buy........as a 'deal' this season may mean forking out again in 2010........

For speed events proban is still acceptable not in italics in the 2009 Blue Book so should be allowable in 2010 as well.

Cheers russ, thats what a lot of peeps from the motor club are saying too..:), gonna purchase one real soon me thinks. www.racewear.co.uk (http://www.racewear.co.uk) do some rather reasonable suits that wont break the bank it seems...:),may even get a set of gloves...all i need now is to learn to drive properly.., i guess that will come with practice..or not..
