Since rebuilding my engine its done about 600miles, flushed with oil when building, and after run up dumped oil, then changed oil again at like 300miles. But I have since noticed a noise. I never really paid any attention before the rebuild, but since rebuilding you kind of listen for things a lot more.

Its a kind of echo, like a hollow object being tapped slightly, noticeable on idle as the video shows, doesn't get louder when revved, seems to go. Sometimes I think its from the water pump the rest of the time it just sounds from all over. Am I being anal or do I have a problem:scared:

That hollow noise that's comes and goes is concerning.

have you had the belt off and checked the water pump for play?

Probably best you wip off the rocker cover aswell see if anything obvious can be seen

Maybe take the alternator belt off for a minute to eliminate bearings in the water pump and alternator.

Marky mark would be the man you want to ask- he's very knowledgable

To be fair, those tappets sound a bit noisy... Might want to adjust them, also as above check the pushrods for true, roll them over a sheet of glass and see if some are bent.
