There doesn't seem a whole heap of difference between the 59 & the 60, a slightly smaller compressor on the 59. I keep thinking that the way that the GTX Turbo behaves is going to be less laggy or the same as the non GTX stuff I'm looking at but with more scope for power.

The 2559, 2560 and the 2860 all have .64 rear housing options, all are just to the left of the surge line @ 3500rpm @ 20psi but the 2860 is bang in the middle so looks best suited.

Why do you say 2559 JP?

I have been looking at these as I need a new blower and the gtx range look awesome the maps have a much larger efficiency range as well. I will hopefully have a gt2860r(1) with a gtx wheel fitted soon so il let you know how it performs on a b18ft though.

I personally don't think the gtx are worth the extra money and the reason I went for the gt2859 is it has a good size turbine wheel with a smaller compressor wheel which should give you slightly better spool up over a bigger gt2860 especially if you want it for the track ;)

GTX3582R with 50mm TIAL Ext.WG and full ALS.

The GTX doesn't make a lot of difference until you really start pushing the boost. At least thats what I've seen so far with the bigger frame ones.

After that and what Scoff has just posted up, it looks like the gtx is out. That'll save me a few $.I really need to get round a table with you jp and thrash this out, I have another line of enquiry atm which I'm looking at so want to get this right. I assume that your comment made is about the 2859 is about the unit on your car as it stands atm?

The one I'm going for only has a gtx wheel as the guy had it fully rebuilt before selling and decided to pay 130 extra for a gtx wheel:eek: can't argue for what I'm paying tho:D
Looking at my knackered pulsar turbo that too has a billet comp wheel but I didn't notice any difference made more power up top but that would be due the .86 rear over the old .64 so not a fair comparison really.

Also looking at the gtx maps the larger sweetspot is most prob due to the anti surge comp housing, but I know **** all about turbo's

I also thought anti lag housings made for slower spool up too :) so it's a compromise if you have one fitted :)
