i just bought one of these as a daily driver as the best i could get out of my gtt was £10 = 75miles.

it only cost me £180 for the whole car!!!

on mixed motorway and around town i got 59mpg! - £10 got me 130miles - bonus!!!:agree:

what sort of mpg do people get from the newer diesel cars?

 the headgasket started leaking. i took the head off...but as i was undoing the headbolts one of the bolts snapped off in the block! - its snapped in a recess!
so if i cant get it out, the engine is scrap! - hence the car might be scrap! :disagree:

lol, I have got a 106 1.4 diesel! I get around 66 mpg and i give it death most of the time!! (belive me you have too!) Aside from the mpg figure it is probably the worst car i have ever owned:cooter: proper pipe an slippers motor!

My head gasket is leaking i lose about a litre of coolant per 100 miles or so, i belive its quite a common problem and i have done 4k with it like that:cool:, after changing the oil and filter and glow plugs/belts e.t.c when i got it i can honastly say i hope i never have to work on the **** box ever again! I got so dirty i took me weeks to get my hands clean again!! Im quite happy to put some coolant in it every week thankyou.

Im yet to try the magic head gasket fixing stuff that you put in your coolant.

you could probably superglue the head back on and it would run! lol

seriously tho if it was me i would just burn it! ;)

I had a 1.5 derv ax until recently, used it as a daily for 4 yrs. Super cheap to run, 500+ miles on a tank every time. The headgasket was weeping on mine too, oil leaking above the alt, was like this for at least 30k:cool:

its an alloy block with wet liners, id really think it needs all bolts to be there.

i tried to weld a nut on, but the weld didnt wanna stick to the bolt. i also tried to drill it, but it didnt wanna drill true and kept sliding off.

was thinking of fitting a 1.5 diesel, but they are going for £150- £250 on ebay. - i only bought the car for £180!

so its back to the reliable ph1 5 gtt for me!!!
