Mercedes get nothing more than a slap on the wrist, and a ban from the forth-coming young driver training day @ Silverstone, regarding the 'unofficial' tyre testing after the Barcelona GP.

I don't think Merc did anything wrong. When I saw the crux of the wording in the FIA rules, the written and verbal enquiry about the test with 2013 cars to Whiting, and the fact that it's a Pirelli test not a Merc test, I had to come to the conclusion that Merc were only guilty of not taking it upon themselves to tell all the other teams. But why should they. For me, that was Pirrelli's responsibility.

I wouldn't give a damn if I was Pirrelli either tbh, the way they have their balls bust from pillar to post is terrible. They are in a very invidious position IMO, so I'm sympathetic. If I was them I'd be considering saying 'stuff it' to F1.

As for the drivers wearing black helmets, Merc said they were concerned that there was no security personnel team and they didn't want to draw attention to the fact it was Hamilton and Rosberg and potentially make them more vulnerable. I think I believe them but maybe I'm just a sucker.

I wouldn't mind if it was the other RB driver who was maximising that engineering package and winning all the time. I hate that finger! Lol.

Yep hate the finger, but not quite as much as the in car celebrations, truly cringeworthy. And as a side note, the reason (I think) the findings/ruling were such a damp squib was because there was little to answer.
