It seems I require some help with a starting/charging issue,

I've had the car just over a week and its covered around 200-300 miles. After each use I turn the car off as you do, walk away and come back the next day try to start it and ... It won't start with out a jump.

It's had a recent new battery , and I am expecting a replacement alternator to arrive, how ever this morning she started up with out a drama, no battery lights flash up to indicate the batttery is dieing so I am slightly miffed,

What could be the cause of this issue?.

Many thanks, Matt .

You got a drain somewhere and for some reason didn't drain it that time, I have had a boot light stay on which caused this issue but if the boot was in the right position the light wouldn't come on.

Yeah I kind of thought in my head is there some thing draining my battery,

I intend on cleaning all the points up , is it ok to use terminal grease over earths and live connection points on a car ? I use it on our HGVs just making sure, going to attempt to locate the power drain.

Really bone and quick stupid question guys; it's been so long .. When upping the boost via actuator what way increases boost?? Extend or shortening the rod ?.

Shorten it for mor boost as it puts more tension in the spring

I miss my old Fiesta RS Turbo. They're a great all-rounder. :agree:

Look at the main live to alternator! The connections go green due to being at the bottom of the car.

1metres worth mate, I believe it's a 75amp alt so was wondering if 110 amp wire would be up for the job.

Cheers mate,

So guys I'm in a predicament ! On a cars starter motor there are 3 terminals 1 terminal situated inbetween two others Happens to go... Well some where (I'm not sure) and then there's one either side of that, one for the battery live and one for the alternator live. If the lives for both the starter and battery are on one terminal would this cause an issue with the battery? Ie: struggling to start and eventually the battery dying?. Or does is it make no difference?.

Can't really see it to be honest.

On a starter you will have a constant live wire (from your battery) & a coil wire from the starter coil which gets 12v when you turn it over.

I've PM'd you a link to a pic.

Cheers pal! Ill have a look,

Took the car to have its battery tested today, it was ok so, they tested the alternator at the battery and it kept pulsing, 12's, 14.4 , 15's then up to around 23's and it continued this over and over,

So would you say the alternator is at fault ? I've recent changed it (all be it a seconded hand one) as the previous alt wouldn't charge the battery either seriously at Whitts end!

Help

Please lol
