Carb part?

Hi guys just rebuilding my carb and come across a plastic screw that looks a little worn, is this right or do i need a knew one if so where would i get one from cheers - rob

Hi you need a new one its off the accelarator dial at the back of the carb to set the choke on to push the dial when choke is set

anyone know where i could get such a part or could i just replace it with a metal screw / bolt?

also dont suppose anyone knows where to get the brass screws for the top throttle plate as mine have rounded off many thanks - rob

:agree: It's only for setting the fast idle whilst choke is being used.

am i right in saying i read somewhere on here that people remove the choke plate completely and just feather the throttle to fire up?

You can, although you can still retain the choke cam (fast idle) to help idle when cold.

so do literally just remove the plate or the shaft aswell and seal up the holes?

Remove plate, shaft, shaft bush (inner hole), plug carb body (outer) hole.

Then adjust (if needs be) the fast idle screw so you can still use the choke/lever as such to help the engine idle when cold.

whats the best thing to plug the hole with? would solder work? or we looking at a glue etc?

hi again guys im having no luck being able to get hold of a plastic bolt/screw that fits?

doesnt help im in afghan at the mo so only really have the internet lol and am trying to get it fully rebuilt while im out here ready to stick on when i get back, could anyone help out with getting hold of one or point me in the right direction to getting one?
