I took this off just to see if it has any big cracks. I'm not particularly sure on how feasible is to keep this as it looks a pile of crap.
Any advice on cleaning this up ie what to use and how?
And also I don't remember this threaded hole on my last.
Could someone tell me what it is lol :)
Thanks

Hi the elbow are ok to use some people bore them out to get a better flow the hole would have a pipe connected to the actuator pipe work you can just blank it off if you have changed the pipe run

You could get it blasted and coated but in my experience its just gonna flake off after time, I've heard ceramic coating is good but its pricey too.

You could always get a replacement downpipe with an enlarged elbow on it , nice and shiny !!

yeah i thought about ceramic coating my last 5's elbow and downpipe right into the under section of the exhaust...think it was zircotec if i remeber right.
and it was around 3/400 quid.
im on a mega tight budget so maybe just a wee rub down and some hammerite or high temp paint will have to suffice :) ive got a dremel...maybe ill just wire brush it and get all the mega flaky bits off

I had a go with a wire brush/drill and got it looking ok, sandblasting got it back to almost white metal which looked good but it surface rusts in a matter of hours.

I you do hammerite it you'll probably regret it as flaking paint looks even worse than the rusty elbow !

or you could just buy this one --
