Hi guys I've got samco coolant hoses without bleed nipples.
Question is how to bleed the system. I must have done it once before as I fitted the hoses but can't remember. :ashamed:

I normally raise the header tank as high as possibly and run the car without the cap off to let as much air out.

Coolant/water will pour out of the header tank but it will settle down.

When youre happy its settled, the water level will obviously be lower so top it up, stick the cap back on and run it up to temp.

If the fan doesnt kick in at its usual place, normally above half way approaching 2/3s then switch off and repeat.

Thanks. What's the system capacity?

Somewhere between 4-5 litres, someone with a Haynes can confirm it :)

I normally find a 40% anti=freeze mix is more than sufficient :agree:

Popping a 3mm drill through the top part of the t.stat helps a bit too.
My old sprint car had a Clio 16v booster pump on it, so bleeding the system was a doddle. Run it for 5 mins on a battery pack and job done. (also came in handy after running the car, to cool the car down, keeps circulating the water round the head).
