Fitting a R18 carb on a 5gtt

Does anyone know if a Renault 18turbo 32dis would work on 5gtt with the right changes. New ones available on eBay but expensive! Wondered if it would worth it, or even work????

Years ago it was looked into but worked out that there would be too many bits you will have to change over to the Renault 5 carb for this to work properly and won't be worth your whole doing so

they have a 24mm venturi too.....

I tried this many years ago.

I got it to idle fine but when driving it was mega mega rich so changed all the jetting to oe GTT but no change flat 10 AFR's at 20psi. I decided this was down to the smaller venturi having a greater effect on the fuel. The 18 carb ran just a 1.1 main jet but still managed to fuel for a larger cross flow engine.

Thanks for the info, £230 can only use the main body and could never get the fuelling right sounds like a bad idea :)
