Door lock mechanism cleaning

Took these out tonight as they were very very dirty and near seizing up. Any recommendations on cleaning them? I was gonna go daft with the wd40 and a toothbrush? Then a bit ohttp://i1363.photobucket.com/albums/r703/safehandsglasgow/null_zps0d05ea42.jpgf grease?

Take the central locking motor off (in the rubber cover) take rods off the mechanism and soak in a container/tub of diesel over night, can give it a scrub with toothbrush too. That should sort it, bit of grease and re-assemble. :)

I over loaded mine with WD40 after that they fire up and down at lighten speed! Huge defence. :cool:
