Here for sale is my 1990 Renault 5 GTS 1.4. It is advertised as spares or repair as it needs a few thing sorting. The R5 is in great condition for its age, mechanically I have had no problems at all. The interior is in good condition but could do with a clean. The paint work is good, it still shines like new. It has full service history up to 40618 so it’s due for a service, I also have all the original manuals. The door speakers have been upgraded and the stereo wiring has been converted properly for a CD player to be installed. It had a new windscreen and Bosch battery fitted within the first week of ownership. The nearside front and offside rear outer sills have had plates welded at some point. It also has an immobilizer which is great for security.

Here is a list of work that needs to be done to make it perfect –
- I can hear a humming sound from the front of the vehicle, I reckon it is a wheel bearing but will need further investigation.
- I have discovered some rust under the nearside front wing where a securing pin has come off.
- There is some surface rust around the vehicle (see pictures) but can be easily repaired.
- The gear selector retaining spring has rusted away, which will need replacing; it does not effect the gear changes just a bit of free play in the neutral position.
- Accelerator pedal is a little stiff, cable could do with replacement.
- Oil temp gauge does not work
