Hello all,

Had my 5 out for the first time this year and gave it some beans and had a bit of clutch slip... could this because the car hasn't been used in a while.... or is it time for a new clutch!!! (this one has done less than 5k miles!) and is the Volvo uprated version...

Cheers,

Ian

My Volvo clutch slips a little top end of 4th then grips again.. Sit with your hand brake on ans try the bite.. I put mine down to the combination of lightened skimmed flywheel and new clutch..

It will probably slip again if it has slipped once..use it a bit more and see what happens mate

Most likely pedal wants adjusting. Check tension on the cable.

My new clutch used to slip for a few weeks then stopped and hasnt slipped since, either bedding in or some grease/oil was on it. Perhaps some oils slipped down there or maybe youve cleaned something and some degreaser has dripped down??
Either way ull just have to try it and see. itll either get better or worse. Like said check the cables not tight and not releasing properely.
Good luck :agree:

Cheers for all the help everyone, I'm thinking its being stood for quite a bit so maybe the seals have leaked a tad as the oil has been changed frequently and might have overfilled/spilt etc

Thanks for everything guys :)
