Typical, cars running fine and boom...
Wont turn over.
I never left lights on and alarm/locks etc work fine but put it on fast charge for 5 hours anyway, headlights etc are all ok.

When i turn it on i just get a "Chonk" and nothing.. tried a dozen times.
Ill check starter tomorrow when i get it on the ramps but where is the relay for the starter to check first?

Thanks

No relay as standard, sounds like either starter on its way out or the wiring has a bad connection. Worth checking all connections and earth points too

As you flatterned the battery worth checking the voltage is high enough as stays high enough when its cranking too

adding to what others have said make sure the starter motor heat shield isnt missing as the starters cook without them and fail, also the heavier gauge wire from the battery to the starter is a bit under rated as standard, it wont burn out or anything but it does cause a voltage drop between the battery and starter, fitting a heavier gauge cable will give you a more enthusiatic start :smokin:

this was the culprit..
Broken drivers side Earth cable
I didnt know about this until today and have already fitted a new one to the gearbox.

Is it ok to have 2 earths to Engine? or just take this off

I'll trim and stick it back on,
In case new one starts getting mucky.

Is ok,
It was just the starter issue, (now we know it was the earth cable).
Now i have a new starter & 2 earths to Engine :)
Plus cable to starter/solonoid and earths are triple coated/protected :cooter:
