what boost do you run? and when do you see full boost? my t28.63 hybrid is on full boost at 4k and pulls your face off until you let off.

and what power are you making

New poster! (less than 10 posts)

More flow = more go
Port the head and polish chambers around valves.
T25/t28 hybrid ?

Bin the c1j saving you loads of cash. Then spend said cash on a F7p turbo conversion :)

20psi and full boost is around 4000rpm, full engine conversion would be nice but ive just bought a house and they dont come cheep!

In that case mate be happy with the power you have and spend money on the house :)

there is no replacement for displacement;)

bigger engine ,more valves, bigger turbo= more cash ,but bigger bhp:D:smokin:

i get full boost at same time as you and certainly make more power.

if you wanna stick with c1j then id go for the turbo i have it can easily do the numbers, keep an eye on mine in a month or so when i take it back wgt

but i will agree with the guys above a 16v turbo would be the best way to own virtually everything on the road

Got a brand new K Tec stage 3 head I'm contemplating selling. Was coming from a set up that would have been similar to yours

Stick with the c1j and get a t28. I hate seeing the c1j being remove, Totally takes the sole away from the 5.

Even tho a f7p would be cheap to pick up your still talking plenty of cash once you factor in the ecu for a proper conversion.

only worth doing if you looking for more than 240hp, even then once your past 300 on an f7p you will start chewing box's, stick at least £800 more than likely more for a o2m box conversion.

You already have the right gear for 230hp in a c1j, trade the t25 for a t28 buy a paddle clutch, afr kit, some micro drill bits, a steth kit, if your lumps healthy then bobs your uncle 200 + easily.

Nail on the head.. Engine conversions are for deleting shi t engines... which the C1J is not... so why bother

A proper mappable ignition system would be a benefit to your current setup and then maybe add a t28 aswell to spice things up a bit

I'm running a similar set up at the moment. The first step I'm going to take is send the head and manifolds off for gas flowing. Then will look at upgrading the turbo to a higher spec T25. Not really sure about T28's on the C1J. Would have to go out for a ride in one first to see what the lag is like...

Im running a full t28 and it is really pretty laggy, but once it gets going it does pack a pretty decent punch even at around 1 bar. Next stage is 21 psi, that should liven things up abit

I guess the T28 would make the 5gtt feel like you're driving an Escort RS Turbo running high boost.

Jump the throttle and it goes something like this:
:boring:......:burnrubber:......

a big turbo is great you can cruise on the motorway off boost so good on fuel and if you want to poodle around town off boost you can. Big turbo's just have a later spool higher up the rev range but if you're wanting to thrash it you'll be in the right gear high up in the revs anyway just drop down a gear and rev the nuts off it:D
Its like having two cars in one;)

BabybluGTT

Yeah I've got to say I do like it alot, like Schwartz says you can always combat the lag by dropping it down a gear

I used to chug up to Wolverhampton to see an ex 'off boost' with a little T2. :)

I like the current T25 I have, but would love to ride in a T28 to compare the two. I've always considered the T28 to be something matched with EFi as you can tweak the timing to help with lag. It's good to hear you guys are rating them.

Anyone up for doing a little video? One that records the dash for rpms, etc, would be sweet.
