So, I was going to send my car to k-tec racing in Poole, Dorset. Apparently they're renault specialists. I need a complete engine rebuild, was quoted £2k, give or take £500. I spoke to the owner on Tuesday, he said I should expect a call from the tow truck same day to arrange to collect the car from my house.
No call. So I call them Wednesday, some guy says he's got loads on, is too busy and will arrange the towtruck today. No call today.
Plus I typed k-tec racing review into google, and it's not all good news. Can anyone recommend a decent garage on the south coast? If they can't even arrange to collect my car, I'm worried how I will get it back after parting with a huge wad of notes.
Maybe I'm wrong, if anyone's dealt with them, let me know.
Thanks

As above Diy it yourself, drop Mike aka Phase i 16v turbo, or contact any southern area rep and see if they will rebuild it for a small fee :agree: Clearly parts on top. And you will get a decent motor back:agree:

Haven't heard anything from Tony (fishead) for a long time, guess he is still doing 5s. if u don't want to do it yourself he is local and very good.

ktec are so overpriced. If you really don't want to do it yourself then a member on here would take it on im sure and even with sorting them out it will come out a lot cheaper, or mike at gt turbo spares now does rebuilds

Noticed you're in Southampton Andy. If you decide to go the DIY route, I don't mind coming over to lend a hand here 'n there. I'm no guru, but I've built a couple of engines in the past before.

If you'd prefer to pay someone, Mike/Tony are your guys. :)

2K is alot of money for a rebuild! As others have said go the DIY route with a member, you'll learn loads :)

Save yourself about a grand too!!
