View Full Version : New user with 28k mile tungsten grey phase 2 R5

First post!

Hi folks im brand new to this site and recently bought a car ive been after for a few years now which the guy promised never to sell lol. Hes my pal and im always asking about it so maybe he just got sick of me? ha ha its a genuine 28k mile car with original tyres from the factory! He bought it from a guy he worked with offshore from hull and it had took a knock to the passenger door and resulted in the drivers side rear arch taking a knock also :( such a shame but nothing major! My dad and brother are time served painters to a very high standard so the bodywork isnt a problem at all! ive sourced a door and just need to get the rear arch! i have a brand new sticker set for it as well! Bog standard bar the stainless exhaust system! engine is silent as you would expect with this mileage but as the car hasnt been used for a number of years im going to give it a really good service and make sure everything is A1 before its driven anywhere! hope you guys like it!

Cheers mate its a fairly easy project for me as i have always worked on fords lol rs turbos, cosworths, xr2's etc! I done a 205 gti6 conversion in 2010 which was quite good as its totally different to working on the rusty fords :) Ive always wanted a r5 after being in a friends one a few years back and after seeing this one i knew i wanted it! I will start work on the r5 once the tax runs out on my escort cabriolet and it goes back in the garage for winter!

Oh you would be doing me a favour taking her away ha ha hope she doesnt read this or im busted!! Nope shes staying standard lol i have a turbo engine for my escort that will get fitted at some point and i have a 2.8 mk3 capri that im going to fit the turbo technics kit too so the r5 can stay standard :) if i love the r5 and im craving more oomph il just buy a tattier one and abuse that!

That's a good purchase if its a genuine 28k. I know of another 1 owner 5 in hull, it's my old work mates mum's car but she won't sell which is a shame as its just stood rotting.

Are you local to hull?

That looks really nice mate and i would never guess it had done 100k :o very shiny and i love how it retains its original look!

Cheers mate its defo staying standard! just needs the door replaced and arch fixing then a good detailing session! i cant wait to take it for its mot! my mate is a tester and he is crazy about R5's :)

Hi mate ive bought a door and the only thing im needing is a mint drivers side rear plastic arch and maybe some interior bits! il be in touch once i actually start working on the car lol its just been dumped in my lockup for just now until probably winter time!
