hi all, on the way to surrey meet we noticed on boost the car was getting warmer than usual only to the second mark but as soon as driven off boost back to first mark also got a bit of a oil leak off the 3rd bolt on the rocker box anyone had this before we got sangliers coming so it needs sorting, lucky got the stage 1 turbo technics still in shed if needed thx mick:agree:

How old is the rad, also what type is it?

its a copper mark fairly old mate i thought this originally but it cools quick off boost:scratch:

Sounds to me like the rads blocking up, I've had this before a fair bit with those copper rads
Best off fitting new standard item mate

ren 5 extra van diesel rad use to be a doable upgrade also, had a slightly wider core area over the 5 gt o.e item, if you can find one on the bay etc;)

more useful if running higher than stadard boost levels though:)

thanx mate can ya run the oe oil pipes to this still mate

Flush the rad with a hosepipe first mate.

Nope you'll need an external oil cooler and you'll need to extend the top coolant hose too.

I used to run this setup when I was a c1j and I never had any temperature issues, even flat out on the dyno at 22psi, at 7000rpm :)

Also you cant run a standard position intercooler with the diesel rad
