As above, just stripping down a spare engine and noticed this set up.

Looks like some sort of homemade injection kit where they use to spray fuel into the inlet many years ago

Nope, its a cup car inlet manifold, they had a drilled and tapped hole as seen in the picture with a reference pipe going to the "peak boost" meter located in the scuttle panel. Was a way the scrutineers could check the boost hadne been messed around with before a race :)

Look at this picture of Jesus`s car. You can see the braided like coming off the manifold as in the first pic. You can also see the boost meter "black box" in the scuttle panel

Looks like the plumbing for a boost meter on the cup car set up.

I once heard a little story that they used to freeze the pipe before the races. That way they could run more boost for the first lap to get a better start, before winding it back :laugh:
