View Full Version : What's the brown plug for
Changing my clocks over and noticed that the connector that goes to the back of the speedo has a brown connector coming of the end which wasn't plugged in to anything.
Is this normal.
Thanks in advance

All you should have is the 3 big ones across the top.
A small on in the bottom of the speedo and a small one to the left of the rev counter.
Oh and the boost cable.

What i mean is is that the brown connector is on the loom side. Just wondering what is used for. Attached to the upper speedo cable

If you've got what I've mentioned plugged in then I don't know where it goes. I know it's dark now but do you have any pics?
As above should have them plugs going to clocks, anything i could think is its for the switchs fog/windscreenwash/rear fogs or whatever they are on dash? Cant think off top of my head dont really use mine.. Green grey and brown i think  might be wrong
Everything was plugged as it should be. Just saw the brown plug hanging loose and wondered what it was for
It's only a single plug. Has no one ever seen this lol
Sorry about the crap pic

That shouldn't be there mate, as far as I'm aware, maybe someone had an aftermarket gauge fitted.
I take it the wire it comes off still does its job ie not Broken etc. if it is just ignore the new connection.
Its meant to be like that. there is a random plug behind the dials that doesnt do anything :)
It looks like its part of the loom tbh. Stupid renault lol
