Is it normal for a B18FT with standard engine management to idle high when the engine is relatively hot (between 2nd and 3rd line on temp. gauge) ?

Thanks :)

No idle should hold steady at all temps. Mine does anyway. Baccara b18ft.

If you don't have the icv installed or it isn't working properly it will idle higher when hot.

I do have an ICV :crap: what can I do to check it and/or repair it ? could it be something related to the sort of 'dump valve' connected to it ? I read somewhere that they usually fail when increasing boost...

Currently running 15psi on a Saab T25

Tbh I have done away with mine to simplify the pipework. I just have mine idling slow when cold as I don't really drive it till its warmed up anyway. Best way to test would be to swap for a known working one and see if that sorts ya problem.

I'm sure a few other cars share the same valve. The Clio rsi uses same engine and obv 440 460 480 do but ifanyone could search the part numbers and compare.

How do you adjust the idle speed ?

The only way I've seen that can adjust the idle speed is by turning the small screw (originally covered by a small piece of black plastic and some sort of 'locking' clip) that stops the throttle wheel..

That will open up the butterfly. Best way is to remove a plastic cap to the left of the butterfly and there will be a brass bypass screw that lets air bypass the butterfly.
