No you can use std if you wanted. allegedly help with being better heat barrier and they are reusable aswell:agree:

I need 8mm not because its needed other than to space my manifold back to fit my injectors ;) if anyone needs one I have an f7r inlet gasket ptfe 3mm that is new and never used and a f7p gasket too at 3mm :)
