what you guys think is a fair price to be quoted if i am looking to get a 285 cam,vernier and valve springs fitted???

labour only:
you'd be looking at £100 for the headgasket and spring change and an extra £80-£100 for the cam change.

that's mates rates though, I can't see any workshop doing it for that.

How's that turbo? And the one-piece elbow/downpipe? Not forgetting the charge-cooler of course... :p

untested yet big boy. you'll be getting a call when i find the hooky turbo is kaput. good job i noticed the split turbo oil feed pipe being held together with a cable tie...
