Hi guys,

Just dropping in to say hi! I don't actually own a 5 yet but have been looking for a while. After posting on here I have been directed to Mike at Gt turbo spares who has helped me in my quest for a Raider. Hopefully this time next week after I've seen the car I will own my first 5 :D and the restoration can begin.

This is all new to me so no doubt ill be asking plenty of questions so ill apologise in advance :crap:

Cheers
Scott

Hi scott, welcome to the madhouse! I'm fairly new on here too but everybody that I've spoken to/met are really nice guys. Basically anything about a Renault turbo that can't be found on here isn't worth knowing!

Good luck with the project! :burnrubber:

Hey alright mate

I bought my raider about 3 weeks ago after Mike passed on my details - top bloke. They arent the simplest of cars and parts can be a bit awkward to find but once you do a bit of research you can pretty much get anything you could need one way or another.
Mine is currently in about 100 pieces in my garage - engine was a bit rough so sorting everything out so should be nice for the summer

Has Mike got one for you or just passing on someone elses details?

ah cool - fingers crossed its a good one then

one of my best mates is a mechanic so doing most of the technical stuff for me - im just the OCD cleaner - every part we have removed is now spotlessly clean and the bay itself is about 3 or 4 hours away from being spotless too - did the gear box last night (while still fitted) came out really good!

Speaking with mike it sounds tidy. So happy with that and like you say hes sound.

Your lucky having a mate as a mechanic. I eventually want the engine bay spotless as well.what did you use to clean your parts
