I have a forge dump valve that I used on my 182/225 hybrid engine with TD04 turbo and TBH quite liked the noise but cant decide on whether to use it on my new forged GT2860rs setup or not.

What are the pros, cons and alternatives to using a VTA dump valve? :scratch:

Some love them some hate them bud.. I had a forged for a while but since I turned the boost up it blew off a pipe.so I removed it and now I like the chatter instead :)

I love my dump valves... But I'm an old school modder. I'm not sure how much it really helps with the back pressure but even if all it did was woooosh then I would still use it!!


I'm sure I'm a minority though

Does it not affect throttle response or turbo life to not have anything?

It doesnt affect anything not having a dumpvalve - the pro's of not having one fitted are no boost leaks and your car wont sound like a bus

I know what you mean, the DV lets you know there's a turbo there. :D

Suppose I must be old school then at 32. My scooby has a recirc DV so you dont hear it but it runs a MAF rather than a MAP sensor so needs it.

I'll probably just use it again as I cant see any drawbacks with it other than the love or hate noise.

Every one ive had has leaked, piston or diaphragm :laugh:

Just prefer the surge ;)

No, think the GT is classier without one.
